Honda Approves RF Express
for MFG/PRO
Honda of America
Mfg., Inc. (HAM) has approved Eagles RF Express for MFG/PRO and EDI
Windows from Trinary Systems as an integrated inventory,
purchasing and tracking solution for its suppliers in North America. This
solution fulfills the stringent electronic data interchange (EDI) and bar
coding portion of Hondas Delta Project business practice requirements.
The Delta Project is an
enterprise resource planning system that Honda implemented in 1997. As
part of the project, Honda established a fully integrated production
control process from production planning to supplier payment. The new
business processes are improving efficiency, accuracy and communication
throughout the Honda supply chain.
The projects EDI and automated
data collection (ADC) requirements include EDI transmission and receipt of
parts ordering information, as well as electronic transmission and capture
of data through bar code labels. Any supplier who wants to do business
with Honda must adhere to these requirements, and the most effective means
for them to do so is via RF Express for MFG/PRO and EDI
Windows.
The four-phase approval process
culminated in an intensive on-site test at an Eagle/Trinary installed site
that brought together RF Express for MFG/PRO (Eagles online, real-time
automated data collection/bar coding solution) and Trinary Systems EDI
Windows (a fully integrated electronic data interchange
bridge between the auto manufacturer and its suppliers).
Although many data collection/EDI
partners applied for Honda approval, only 13 survived this rigorous
testing process. Eagle and Trinary successfully demonstrated the ability
to accurately process numerous shipping configurations and special
circumstance scenarios. All testing was performed against a live MFG/PRO
database. The result: Honda has certified the Eagle/Trinary partnership as
the integrated ADC/EDI technology solution to help achieve its production
goals.

From QAD, November 11, 1999: Excerpt from this
release: Keys to the
successful and rapid implementation of Cascade's nine sites were the
consulting and implementation services provided by Deloitte & Touche
LLP, and automated data collection and barcoding solutions provided by
Eagle Consulting & Development. Both companies are QAD product
alliance partners. The success of the project was also supported by a
strong and committed internal team structure at Cascade Engineering.
