Meets the Complex and Diverse Challenges of The Marmon Group
KINNELON,
N.J.—(BusinessWire)—December 10, 2001—The Marmon Group,
Inc. recently struck an unprecedented agreement with Eagle Consulting and
Development. After a great
deal of research and consideration, Eagle’s RF Express™ for QAD
MFG/PRO® was chosen to serve the varied needs of The Marmon Group of
companies for an online, real-time bar coding solution.
The Marmon Group is an international association of autonomous
manufacturing and service companies.

The Marmon Group, Inc., was surprised that the organization of companies
collectively reached such an agreement, but points to the Eagle product --
RF Express -- as the reason. “We
researched and evaluated a variety of solutions, but Eagle’s product
offered immediate solutions for some of our companies, like bar code
labeling capabilities and a fully integrated time-keeping bar coding
system as a long-term solution for others,” said Chicago, Ill.-based
Pursell. “The fact that it
is a system which fully integrates with our enterprise solution sold us on
the Eagle offering.”
The Marmon Group member companies serve a wide variety of industries.
Those companies have operations in
50 countries, and have collective sales of more than $6.5 billion.
Seven of The Marmon Group member
companies use QAD MFG/PRO as their enterprise solution.
These companies, like others within the organization, plan to
use RF Express to increase inventory accuracy and efficiency.
“It is unusual to solidify a collective agreement
of this kind, given the diversity and autonomy of the member companies,”
says Bill Paone, executive vice-president, Eagle.
With hardware purchases already being made by The Marmon Group
member companies, Paone anticipates that, “This will be a multi-site
implementation that should begin first quarter 2002.”
