Products Achieves Real-Time Inventory Accuracy with Eagle's RF Express™
for MFG/PRO®
KINNELON,
N.J.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—DECEMBER 7, 2000—Reese Products, an
automotive industry supplier of hitching systems and towing accessories,
recognized an opportunity to further the organization's
excellence-centered distribution operation and seized it with RF Express™
for QAD MFG/PRO® enterprise applications.
"Because of the level of accuracy required by
our customers, especially when 40 percent of our business operates in an
EDI environment, Reese Products made a conscious decision to embark on an
effort to provide unparalleled customer service," says John Doleys,
director of information systems, Reese Products.
"Inventory accuracy became the driving force to support the
ability to eliminate physical inventories, and commit to fill improvement
and cycle count accuracy on a real-time basis."
This Elkhart, IN-based division of Mascotech, which
uses QAD MFG/PRO as their enterprise solution, launched Eagle Consulting
and Development's RF Express for QAD MFG/PRO in one of their distribution
centers before installing it company-wide.
"With the success we've seen here, we're going to move this
out to other out-lying centers the first quarter 2001, "says Doleys.
Once the implementation was completed, results
surfaced immediately. "In
the first three days we knowingly stopped at least five cases of duplicate
picks and over shipments," says Doleys.
"This does not include other instances where the system
flagged the picker of an error, allowing him to recover without reporting
it to us. We can now prove
exactly what and how much was picked and shipped to any customer in
real-time," adds Doleys.
Reese's experience is similar to experiences of other
Eagle customers. "Our
