Designer of Luxury Jewelry Improves
Operational Effectiveness with
Automated Data Collection System

Eagle Consulting and Development is pleased to announce that David

premier designer of luxury jewelry since 1980, reports improved
operating efficiency with Eagle’s automated data collection (ADC) and
bar coding system, RF Express™ for MFG/PRO. David Yurman’s prestigious
designs range from couture and limited edition jewelry to luxury
timepieces.
Prior to 2003, the company used a very basic
system, adding custom code over time as needed. Eventually, however,
the lack of key enterprise functionality (such as MRP) made itself
felt. According to Applications Manager Brad Stewart, “Without MRP,
expediting was the order of the day, every day.”
In 2003, the company searched for a true enterprise
system and selected QAD MFG/PRO. The company also examined their
existing data collection and bar coding capabilities, which were quite
limited.
According to Stewart, “We saw Eagle’s RF Express
for MFG/PRO as a fully integrated, bolt-on solution that would provide
us with accurate, real-time data, captured and reported in the order of

system checks twice to be sure that what is shipped matches what was
picked. This one change alone greatly improved shipping accuracy and,
