Prior to 2003, the company used a very basic system, adding custom code over time as needed. Eventually, however, the lack of key enterprise functionality (such as MRP) made itself felt. According to Applications Manager Brad Stewart, “Without MRP, expediting was the order of the day, every day.”

In 2003, the company searched for a true enterprise system and selected QAD Enterprise Applications. The company also examined their existing data collection and bar coding capabilities, which were quite limited.
