Eagle Helps SEAL Quality into
Manufacturer's Product
KINNELON, N.J.
(Business Wire) Nov 18, 2002 – Seal Graphics provides laminating
systems and products that provide the “finishing” touch to images that
range from point-of-sale displays to family heirlooms.
That finishing touch adds durability, enhances quality and
appearance and often adds economic viability to items that must withstand
humidity, sunlight or other factors.

In addition to dealing with the quality and
accountability challenge, management at Seal Graphics Americas’ was
bringing a new facility on line. They
wanted the plant to be paper
free, and intended to train the employees on that approach from the
outset, while still maintaining the emphasis on delivering high-quality
laminated products. And they
wanted it done in a 30-day time frame.
Seal chose Eagle to help them address all of these
challenges simultaneously. Eagle’s system offered efficient raw material
tracking, streamlined consumption of lot-controlled components during
backflush, and could be installed rapidly. Charles Neumann, Seal
Graphics’ information technology manager, said,
"Lot control tracking requires a lot of detail. If you don't
use an automated system, you end up with people filling out paperwork, and
people make mistakes. This potentially random human error decreases
inventory accuracy and makes it harder to track flawed material back to
the original manufacturer -- the key to consistent quality control."
He continued, “Because we were starting up and training new people, we
didn't have the manpower in place to tolerate extra manual paperwork. We
wanted to start lean and mean, and Eagle's system allowed us to achieve
that goal."
