Aerospace Gets Desired Results
with Eagle Consulting's Automated Data Collection Solution
KINNELON, N.J. - (Business Wire)
- (Oct 06, 2004) PPG Aerospace PRC-DeSoto chose Eagle Consulting
& Development’s online, real-time automated data collection and bar
coding solution for its manufacturing plants and Application Support
Centers (ASCs) running enterprise application MFG/PRO® from
QAD.
PRC-DeSoto is a technology and industry
leader in the development of aerospace sealants and coatings. The
company is a primary supplier of high-performance aerospace coatings and
sealants to airframe manufacturers Boeing and The Airbus Industrie
consortium.
According to IT Manager, Jeanie May,
Eagle's product, RF Express™ for MFG/PRO, has reduced overtime, reduced
staff, reduced the time to perform physical inventory by at least 25%,
and improved inventory accuracy. "But even that doesn't tell the whole
story," says May. "Eagle's integration with MFG/PRO gave us the
real-time option we were looking for. We were able to put transactions
on the floor where they belonged. Not only did that free up our
planners and schedulers to do what we really needed them to do, it
provided additional and timely validation and faster visibility into the
movement of materials."

From the first go-live in November 2002 to
the present, PRC-DeSoto has implemented RF Express for MFG/PRO at two
manufacturing sites and five ASCs. Phase 2 of the rollout began this
year with the implementation of additional ASCs and more due to come on
line near the end of the third quarter.
